Ten years ago, I did the Chicago Marathon and my sister followed me around the course all day, hopping trains and cheering me on. Yesterday, I did the same for a friend who flew in from California. It was awesome! I was able to wave my sign and cheer at her at nine points during the run. According to my Fitbit, I walked 6.5 miles just from going from train to course and finding a good cheering spot and back to the train to the next place, so I got my own workout. The weather was perfect most of the day, the trains were frequent, and the mood was fantastic.
